“I loved my week with Regina! She was very attentive about how to get what I wanted out of the experience. We did some iced dying and buffing up on quilting techniques and I left with some newly dyed fabrics and 3 different types of quilted pieces. In addition to the art we made together, Regina invited me into her life as an artist and told me about her residencies and scholarships that might be available. She is very connected in the art world in Miami and she had recommendations about art exhibits, shows and museums in the area and also other art making workshops in general. She had new equipment for me to try, like a fancy long arm machine for quilting. I loved the experience with Regina and the pieces I’m leaving with. And I love that I have some really strong starts on projects that can turn into quilts and personally dyed fabric to do something special with. I would (and will) recommend this experience to anyone!”

Explore various experimental fabric dyeing techniques with reactive dyes and ice, dyeing safety, and process training. Participants will use reactive dyes, ice resists, and several methods to achieve dynamic color and pattern variations by expanding on treatments achieved with the classical Shibori and tub-dyeing methods.

“A workshop that is thorough, inspiring, collaborative, and fun: a supposedly easy technique that nonetheless has specific steps and best practices, facilitated by a kind & knowledgeable leader that is not afraid of the unexpected – plus took home A LOT of amazing pieces! Highly recommend!!!”
